About Our Ulpan

Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu founded its Ulpan program in 1968. Since then we have hosted over 85 Ulpan semesters and taught hundreds of students. Our program welcomes both olim (new immigrants) and tourists.

Our Ulpan alternates between work and study days. When you are not in Ulpan class, you will be learning about Kibbutz life by working in areas such as -  the Refet (dairy herd), Gadash (crop fields), Kerem (vineyards and pommegranate orchard), Chader Ochel (dining hall),kitchen, Machsan begadim (laundry), Bio-Bee, or S.D.A. Spice.

Ulpan Sde Eliyahu is different from most Ulpanim because we offer the opportunity to learn in a religious community. For students who wish, we can also arrange additional religious (Torah) classes. Whether you are already observant or simply looking to grow religiously, our Modern Orthodox environment provides a beautiful, pastoral environment for work and study.

Some of our Ulpan work placements:
        Bio-Bee Biological Systems
        S.D.A. Spice
        DatesGrapesPomegranates
        Market Gardens, and Field Crops
        Refet (Dairy Herd)
